Final Forever & Always

Well this post is a bit late. My project was supposed to be up last week but for those that know me, know that my Grandmother passed away on Monday the 21st of May.
The Wild Whisper ladies were kind enough to let me do my final project for them this week instead. It is a bittersweet project for me. It is my last project as a Wild Whisper DT member. These ladies have been so amazing to work with and for. Their products and designs are amazing and they work so hard to bring new and exciting collections to the creative world! It has been an honour and a privilege to work with their designs. Thank you Heather and Suzy for trusting me with your collections.

Here is my final project using the Forever & Always Collection. This is a picture from my grandparent's 60th anniversary party. They celebrated more anniversaries before my Grandfather passed away in 2013 and now they are together again.

Thank you all for stopping by! Be sure to head on over the Wild Whisper blog to see more details and close ups of the project.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Home for the Holidays!

I am so excited for yet another amazing release from Wild Whisper!! November 1st marked the release of Home for the Holidays! And yes, order two of everything LOL Decisions are so hard to make when both sides of the paper and the card pack are gorgeous!!

My first project with this new release is this great flip card.

The ornament sheet of paper just screams to be fussy cut, so to silence the paper, I fussy cut a bunch of the ornaments and added them with pop dots! And the small sentiments stamps from the set are just perfect to fit inside the ornaments. For more detailed pics and pics of the inside head on over to the Wild Whisper blog and check it out. Don't forget to follow on Instagram and the blog because there will be new projects up all month long with this wonderful holiday collection!

Island Escape Travel Journal

I am so in love with the Journal Die from Eileen Hull's Heartfelt Collection! I have finished my second one on my list of too many to count LOL
This one I am going to fill with pictures of my trip to Nova Scotia and PEI last month. Although there are no palm trees there, we visited and played on alot of beaches! It was amazing!
I've also done a quick flip through video as well. I know I need to work on my technique, but I am learning. I think I need to get a tripod or something to hold the camera so I can use both hands!
I edged all the pieces in Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick and Vintage photo.

This is the front of the journal. I used the closure tab that is cut out on the die, painted it and then attached a piece of driftwood on it.

The back of the journal with cut outs from the Kaisercraft Island Escape collection.
Here is the video flip through so you can see the signatures I made for this one.

And here a few close ups of the journal.

Inside cover pocket made with one of the TH glassine envelopes. I just cut one in half and used the top piece for a pocket on the back inside cover.

My piece of driftwood from Crescent Beach, about 25 mins from my house.

The front inside cover and cover of my first signature. Label was painted with Distress Oxides in Worn Lipstick and Cracked Pistachio

I did the TH Tropical Thinlit hibiscus in the oxides as well and the stamens are done with Wendy Vecchi's Buttercup ink and then the Buttercup Mica Spray.

the small hisbiscus were done with Spun Sugar and then sprayed with Wendy Vecchi's Pearl Mica Spray

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my newest journal. Hope you are all having a great week!

World's Best Dad

Have you seen the Wild Whisper Designs newest collection?! You have to and you will need it! The World's Best Collection is amazing and the colours are to die for, anything that includes a little purple is always tops in my books! :) I did a layout of my Dad using the World's Best paper pack, card pack and stamp set and my Distress Ink in Peeled Paint (one of my fave greens). For more detail pics and a quick step out of how I did some of my pieces make sure you head over to the Wild Whisper blog today!

I could go on and on about how awesome my Dad is, because well he is the best, but I don't think there are enough descriptive words in the dictionary to explain how amazing my Dad is. So to keep it short and sweet (like me LOL) I can just tell you how loved he is, how grateful I am that my kids have always had him to look up too and that my son has had him as a role model his whole life. My Dad is my hero and probably the best man I know (aside from my son, so I think it's a tie).
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop over to the Wild Whisper Designs blog to see all the details!

Have a great weekend everyone!

May is for Moms

So excited for the new release from Wild Whisper Designs!! This is one is everything you need to celebrate all the awesome Moms and Dads out there! This collection is called "World's Best" and it is wonderful!
Since this is my 4th Mother's Day without my Mom, I haven't made anything for this day in a long time. I always find this one the hardest of all the important "days" because this was always the newest project in Mom's favorite colours for her gift.
But this year I decided I just needed to make something and as soon as I saw this collection I teared up a bit but then had and idea for a Mother's Day card. So I just went with it :) And this is the card and tealight I created.

For all the details head on over to the Wild Whisper Blog today!!

I love that I can mix my love of Tim Holtz dies and ink with Emerald Creek embossing powder and gemstones and a new David Tutera die to spotlight the new Wild Whisper World's Best Collection!! Stay tuned for a Father's Day project coming up too!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

I Am Ready For Spring!

It's time to get creative and show us your style over at Mixed Media Mojo Challenge! Our challenge this month is Springtime and the twist is showers! And if you live anywhere near Vancouver, BC you know it is big on the shower part right now!! LOL
Here is my take on the challenge, a shimmery showery card that can be used for any occasion, even as a card to just say hi or let someone know you're thinking of them.

http://mixedmediamojo.blogspot.ca/2017/04/april-showers.html

So in the stash of things I have, there is nothing resembling an umbrella or rain or anything like that and I had an idea in my head already. So I kept going through things until I hit my Dylusions Fronds of Foliage and used individual leaves as raindrops. I used Ranger Clear Texture Paste mixed with Finnabair Acrylic Sparks in Magical Pond. Once my drops were dry I edged the page in Distress Ink in Faded Jeans. I found the clock face in a package of TH stuff I just picked up last week and edged in Vintage Photo (my go to for edging most of the time).

I found some metal butterflies and used the new Finnabair waxes to add some shimmer to them, I then used Emerald Creek Quarry Stones to jazz up the bodies on the butterflies.

Here are some close ups of the project so you can see some more of the details!

I just used the wire stems off of some flowers I had and curled them around the end of a paintbrush.

A Distress Oxide Small Tattered Floral for the clock center.

Yum!! Look at those gorgeous amethysts!

For this little guys body I used the moissanite stones.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to head over to Mixed Media Mojo to see all the incredible projects from the Design Team and share your Spring/Showers creation with us! :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Time For Coffee

I can't even tell you how much I love the No Place Like Home Collection! I knew as soon as I saw this one I was going to do a page dedicated to a few of our many special coffee mugs! LOL Yes...I said coffee mugs! Every mug in my cupboard has a story to go with it, which is probably why we can never seem to downsize the mug collection! And why we always seem to add more to it.

Here is my completed page, and to see more details and a couple of close ups, head on over to the Wild Whisper Blog

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Creativation and Winter Hues

WOW!! I didn't post at all last week. All my posting was on Instagram and Facebook as I encountered my first ever Creativation...more on that to come!!
I also got back into my craft room and did a small canvas for The Frilly and Funkie Winter Hues Challenge. Now the hues are winter but the message is one of thanks and memories. Being a part of the Design Team for Emerald Creek allowed me to be at the show and meet some of the most incredibly talented and kind people ever! But first pics of the project!
6X6 canvas, gesso'd, painted, stencilled, embossed, distress sprayed and the flowers were edged in Hammered Metal embossing powder from Emerald Creek.
Just a few close ups of my project to show some of the details.

Emerald Creek charm, embossed teh inside with Hammered Metal, then layered int he "thank you" poured in Glossy Accents and added some of the new stones from Emerald Creek.
A little shout out to Creativation in the bottom corner

Little resin fairy in the corner, lightly painted with irridescent shimmer from the Dylusions line.

I did my project with the challenge in mind but also as a thank you for the amazing people that I got to meet and the incredible time I had at my first ever show.

The show started with this amazing team!

I also had the pleasure/honour of meeting some of my crafting idols!! These ladies were so incredibly kind and made me feel so welcome. I'm still fangirling a bit because well....look at all this talent!!

Karen is the Queen of selfies, which is good because my arms are too damn short!! LOL It was so amazing to meet her and feel so welcome! You need to follow Karen's blog at http://karenbearse.blogspot.ca/

Yes that is Anita, aka The Artful Maven, so excited when I saw her. I was trying to be cool and calm...LOL Didn't happen!! I love her work and it was a big deal! Her blog is at The Artful Maven Haven

Got the chance to meet Jenny at Anita's demo desk!! Seriously too much excitement in one place...I'm such a dork when it comes to meeting this incredibly talented people that I look up too and respect! Jenny's blog is a also a must follow at http://pushingtherightbuttons.blogspot.ca/

And just hanging out in the Emerald Creek booth with all these talented ladies!!

Much more to come from Creativation but I had to share some of it now! At home, still kind of sinking in but one of the highlights of my life! So much talent and kindness and welcoming from people that totally understand when you just have to touch the paper!!

Thanks for stopping by everyone!
Have an amazing week!

Gratitude Journal

I can't believe we are already 4 days into a new year! I had an idea of making a small Gratitude Journal that fit in my purse and was maybe not as time consuming to keep up like I know some can be. It's a very basic little book that you can jot down good things that happen in a day, or quotes you see and want to use later and maybe just a few reminders to yourself about how great you are!

So for my Mixed Media Mojo project today I used an old chipboard book I had kicking around and added some pizazz to the covers! Don't forget to head over to the original post at Mixed Media Mojo and enter your project!

Front cover

Inside front cover

Inside back cover

Back cover

I coated the chipboard with a layer of gesso first, I just find it gives me a better surface to work on. I then cut my paper from Wild Whisper Designs Holiday Style collection into 4 1/2 X 4 1/2 squares. Once my gesso was dry I painted the covers in Dylusions Crushed Grape.

I stamped my Emerald Creek Vintage Timepiece with Distress Embossing ink and used Emerald Creek Frosted Plum. I mixed Ranger Texture Paste with Dylusions Black marble and stencilled on the front and back pieces of cardstock. I painted over the front and back covers with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle paint in Clear Rock Candy. ialso inked all the edges of my papers in Vintage Photo.

On the inside covers I embossed around the edges with Frosted plum. Your lines don't have to be perfect as the 4 1/2 inch squares of paper will cover most of it. On the front cover I attached a Flourished time Piece Charm from Emerald Creek, I put in a 3/4 inch piece of matching paper inside it, then filled it with Glossy Accents and some Iced Enamels German Glass in lavender. The last square is a quick shot of all the products I used for the journal.

Here are a few close up pics of the covers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you share your projects celebrating NEW and CLOCKS with us!

Have a great day!

Clipper Street...My Local Scrapbook Store

It's hard to know where to start when I want to tell everyone about Clipper Street and all the amazing things about it.
A very basic start would be to tell you about all the businessy stuff, like they ship all over the world, they have all the newest and favorite products in stock all the time, if you need something and they don't have it, they can usually order it for you. They have parking lot Garage Sales in the summer so you can sell your unused stuff and make space for new products! The store is full and always so organized, ask and anyone can tell you where an item is. Or you can just enjoy yourself and wander through all the aisles and see all the products from some of your favorite companies. I spend a lot of time near the Ranger products and Sizzix and Simple Stories and.....well you get the idea.

Here is the crew from today after their always sold out Christmas Open House with special guest Kelly from Lawn Fawn!

Look at all these smiling faces! And this was after the crazy day they all had taking care of all the customers and serving us treats and running make and takes!

And it's time for the goofy picture!! LOL
Clipper Street also has amazing classes taught by their staff, and some incredible guest teachers. Always working to bring in the most sought after teachers and always creating and designing the incredible classes for you to take. They offer the classes on weekends, evenings and daytime classes as well.
I've taken classes with Deanna, Jo, Stacey and a mini one today with Meghan. All of them are amazing and so talented. The classes they create are so popular because you get so much bang for your buck, you create in class and almost always have enough left overs to create more at home. There is such a wide variety of classes, card ones, scrapbook layouts, mixed media canvasses, art journaling....so many interesting ways to learn and create at Clipper Street.

It's all thanks to Clipper Street that I have these two amazing photos and had the chance to meet 2 of my creative idols!

Learning all about Color Burst and seeing it in action with Ken Oliver, what a great day.

The amazingly genuine and down to earth Dyan Reaveley!! This was something I was so excited for...yes I was the crazy person starting the line up at 4:00 to make sure I got into her class! And this would not have happened with the persistence and determination from Deanna at Clipper Street!
But aside from amazing classes, all the supplies you want/NEED, the businessy stuff, the awesome projects throughout the store that you can take pics of for inspiration.....Clipper Street is really the best of the best because of the people that work there!!

When exciting things happen, and you share it with the girls, they are excited with you. they totally get the excitement. Michelle was working the night I found out I had won a seat in Life Book 2014 and understood my excitement. Linda that was there in the evenings over the summer loved to share projects. This is their passion and you can tell from the way they teach, talk to you and show you what's new in the store.
Walking into Clipper Street is like walking into an extended family member's house! You are always welcomed, there's joking around and laughs and smiles, and even a few tears sometimes. These ladies treat everyone so well and with respect, it doesn't matter if your a customer that can afford to spend hundreds or a customer that spends a smaller amount, every customer is made to feel like and important part of this store! And it's customer service like that, that keeps people loyal and coming back. You feel like your part of the store and that you matter to them. Seriously....I was trying to decide on a new hair cut and showed Meghan when I was in and decided on a different style LOL  You can be having a hard time with things but when you walk in and start chatting and shopping, you just feel better, like you get to just enjoy what you love and share with others who love it too, and the bad stuff is set a side even just for a little while.
This crew of incredible human beings is led by Deanna, who is so talented and hard working and kind and teaches at the Teresa Collins Event in Vegas.
Deanna, getting her first tattoo, with Dyan for moral support!

Lori is Deanna's Mom and Stacey's Mom in Law and she is on hand to help all the time and always so organized!

Lori, Dyan and Deanna

Stacey is one of the kindest people I have ever met and helped get donations together for The Salvation Army Art Therapy program and is now a Prima Marketing Educator!
Stacey on the left with a huge donation for the Art Therapy Program from the staff and customers of Clipper Street!

Kim is always smiling and she got to meet my pretend country music boyfriend, Keith Urban and she is also an amazing photographer.
Kim

Jo and Meghan are always smiling and you can just be yourself around them, (even if your normal self is a little twisted like me LOL) and they create amazing classes to teach.
Jo

Meghan
