Flamingo Time!

Oh my word!! I saw the demo that Jess did in the Blank Page Muse Stamps Fan Group and fell in love with the designs from Pam Bray. Now up until this episode I wasn't a fan of flamingos, I liked them but had never thought of stamping or playing with the images. Then Pam and Blank Page Muse happened..darn you!! LOL Now I have them in my craft room! And I am so glad I do!
I am not affiliated in any way, I just love these stamps! The detail and the gorgeous thick rubber is amazing to stamp with!
You need to see all the amazing images available from Blank Page Muse.

I took Jess's suggestion and used my TH scissors to cut out my rubber and it was glorious! I then used some double sided tape on acrylic blocks to index all my new images!

Then I had to play a little too! This is my first project using the Flamingo Row and Tropical Dreams stamps.

Here are a few close ups of the project. You need these sets! I love the flowers and drinks and fussy cut all those out to add them to my little frame. I coloured everything in with Distress Markers and a water brush.

It all started with this little guy!

And who doesn't love delicious tropical drinks with umbrellas and in a coconut.

Yum! Added some Distress Clear Rock Candy Crackle!
Make sure you head over to Jess's blog to see all her projects with these sets, and definitely go see Pam's blog as well. Also, here is the link to all of Pam Bray's designs with Blank Page Muse.

I Still Have Cabin Fever!

There are more projects up today featuring the Cabin Fever line! This December Kit  from Scrap Shotz is amazing. I have up a scrapbook layout using the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine monthly sketch, 2 cards and 6X6 canvas board.

My take on the CSM Sketchy Challenge featuring the Scrap Shotz December Kit.

6X6 canvas board using the Cabin Fever line and some TH snowflakes and distress crayons for the background.

Two quick cards created using the cut apart cards from the paper pack, ephemera and the enamel dots.
Head on over to Scrap Shotz Snap Shotz to see more details and list of supplies with direct links to the Scrap Shotz store. This is a great kit so grab it while you can!

Thanks for popping in and hope you have a great week!!

But today, it's time for happy, spring like projects, little chicks, Scrap Shotz and Pretty Pink Posh!!

I created a tag and a quick card, perfect for letting someone you're thinking of them. I used nice bright Oxides, it was a nice change from the gray days here in Langley!

Travel and Discover Dear Graduate

This month over at Mixed Media Mojo Monthly Challenge the theme is Graduation with a Travel twist!! Make sure you join our brand new Facebook Group and share your project with us! The new group is Mixed Media Mojo Challenges, just click on join and someone will approve you, invite your friends as well. Let's get creating and sharing!

Here is my project for the month! Ohh how I love these TH Paper Dolls!

Here are a few step outs of how I created this little 5X7 canvas board :)

After I gesso'd the board I used my TH Distress Crayons and just rubbed them in and blended them with my fingers.

I also used colours from the background to add a touch of colour to the TH ruler piece and then I added a small quote sticker.

And to add a bit of my travel twist I used my TH stencils and a baby wipe to lift the colour for the words and arrows. I really need to use my Distress Crayons more often, I really liked how they turned out.

And a few close ups of the finished project.

A final report card for graduation and the dreaded Periodic Table of Elements (I was never very good at the sciences)

This ruler is much nicer than the ones I used in school :)

And part of the travel twist, little postcards to friends while this little guy is out adventuring.

I love the Crazing Medium!! Adds just that little extra touch of texture.

Don't forget to come and join the fun and join our new Facebook group! Can't wait to see what you all create with June's theme of Graduation with a Travel twist! :) See you in Mixed Media Mojo Challenges!

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Mini Journal...First Try

I had the pleasure of meeting Karen Bearse at Creativation in January and got to hang out and chat and watch her teach a class for Southern Ridge Trading Company also featuring Emerald Creek embossing powders. She was sweet enough to give me one of the class kits to play with. It's been waiting for weeks to be played with! And last week I finally did! I decorated the covers, some of the pages inside and put it all together and added some bling to it :)

Chipboard gear and light bulb are from Southern Ridge Trading Company and they are embossed with Hammered Metal and Charred Gold from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies.

I did the cover and spine with my new Distress Oxides and added some awesome charms from Emerald Creek.

On my first page is the pic from Creativation

Loving the Oxides on the kraft paper!!
Added one of the note cards from Wild Whisper's Rooted Love Collection

A little Distress Paint for the background and some of Dyan Reaveley's stamped images done in Distress Markers.
One of the pages Karen included was a piece of a map. So I did a quick swipe of gesso, then coloured with my Distress Crayons and then took some stencils and removed some of the colour.

And this page was the last of my Faber Castel Whipped Spackle with a hint of shimmer mixed into it.
I loved putting this little journal together and I can't wait to get the new Eileen Hull die so I can make more journals like this!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Tag #10 - Tim Holtz Tags of 2016

Woot Woot!! Got my October tag done!! Wasn't sure I was going to pull this one off since I didn't have the supplies for one of the techniques! It took me a bit but I found a semi compromise so I could do the top layer of this tag! And I also skipped Halloween again and went straight to Christmas! I promise...next year I'll do Halloween!! I hope to have more seasonal things next year!

Tag #10!! I can hardly believe I made it this far! LOL Unfortunately I do not have any of the Monster dies and am not able to get them before they retire. But I did manage to get the cardinal die from Simon Says Stamp when I won a GC for there! The cardinal doesn't cover as much of the tag as the monsters do, so I did 3 of them and layered them!

I ran the cardinals through my Big Shot with the poinsettia embossing folder and instead of using paint, I just used my Distress Crayon to rub over the emobssed parts. Because the silver I had was not a foil or metallic, the paint just soaked in (on the very bottom layered cardinal so you can't see it), so I improvised! I glue the bottom cardinal on flat them added the red and top silver with pop dots for dimension.

I added my Emerald Creek snowflake charm with some hemp twine and just tucked the other end of the twine under the cardinal.

My little steampunk tree from Emerald Creek had to make an appearance too. And omg...I love the crazing medium! I want to do that to everything!

A little saying from one of favorite embellishments, and just cut it to fit in the space I needed it to.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my October tag! Hope you are all having a great weekend and Happy Halloween!!To see all the other incredible tags head on over to Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 October!

Thank you,
Cathy

It's Time...

to start thinking about Christmas! I know I know, we haven't even hit Halloween yet, but some people make dozens upon dozens of cards for the holiday to send out! I am not that adventurous and I just make a few for family and close friends (if I even get that many made lol) and this year I am making simple cards for a craft fair. But these new images from Emerald Creek are so amazing, I had to play a little!

I wanted to keep things simple so the stamp was the focal point here. I used my Distress Crayons to colour over the image after I stamped it in Black Archival. I tore around the image and then inked the edges with Vintage Photo, and used my Distress Marker in Candied Apple to watercolour the red on the image.

Added a small chipboard music note from Southern Ridge Trading Company, also inked and coloured with Distress Crayons and Distress Ink.

Tied some hemp twine around the front of the card and kept it neutral colours. The plaid background paper was from the Tim Holtz stack from last year.

Very simple supplies used and made the stamped image the focal point.

I love how this turned out!
Thank you for stopping by and having a look! Stay tuned for another Christmas card idea and coming up soon, a new blog post from Emerald Creek with new projects from the Design Team!

Have a great weekend!!

Ohhh yay for Thursday! A new blog post and challenge from Emerald Creek!! And this one is a doozy!! In preparation for The Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival it's time to show us.....YOUR SUPER HERO!! My day background was done using my Gelli Plate, Dylusions paint and pressing my Emerald Creek charms and brads into the paint. I then used Emerald Creek cardstock to pull the print off the Gelli Plate. I did the edges with a Distress crayon and Emerald Creek blue shimmer embossing powder.

Charm Chick to your embellishing rescue!! Look at all the amazing charms you could have.

Tag #3 - Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016

Yay!! Tag #3 is completed! Again, I try to use what I have on hand to complete my tags, but with this one I really wanted to use the Mixed Media #2 Thinlits.

Got to my local scrapbooking store....seriously just moments after another customer had grabbed the last set!! I was so disappointed in myself for not being there earlier like I had planned (but after a 13 hr work day and 3 hr commute the day before, I really wanted that one more hour of sleep!! LOL )

But one of the awesome girls there had a set to purchase for herself....and she let me buy that set and she was going to wait for the next shipment!! I was so blown away by that act of kindness...it's the people like Meghan at my LSS that make me smile and believe that there are still kind people out there!!

Enough of my rambling though and time for my March Tag!

I learned a new technique, I got to use some of my favorite Emerald Creek charms, I got to use my Distress Crayons, my new Dylusions Mica Sprays and on my dragonflies I used some distress paint and the new Finnabair Opal Magic paint in Violet Gold!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Tag #3!! Hope you are getting into the spirit and making your own tags this year too!! I wish I had started playing along years ago!

Have a great week everyone!!
