Tag #7 - Tim Holtz Tags of 2016

Woot woot!!! And again, just in the nick of time my July tag for Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 is done!! Loving all the new things I'm learning and playing along with so many talented people!! It is truly inspiring to see all the different takes on these techniques every month!

I love any chance to use my Distress Sprays and I love the Distress Crayons too, they blend so nicely! And of course, it seems like Emerald Creek always has a product that is just perfect for what I need and this time was no different. I am very fortunate that I get to be a part of the EC Design Team, but I love so many of the products and I use them on almost every single project I do these days. Whether it's a charm, or a stamp or one of the amazing embossing powders, always the perfect fit for me!

I still have this old Stampin Up sand dollar from ages ago and I still love it. Embossing it in San Tropez Tan and Weathered Wood, then colored it with my Distress Crayons and covered it with the Distress Glaze.

Found this old charm from my stash (probably had it for years but it was really shiny gold and it just never worked with anything) and thanks to my Emerald Creek San Tropez Tan it is now the perfect sand dollar!

Used my new thinlits for the words and then embossed "beach" in San Tropez Tan...yes I know I used it alot but it really is the perfect beachy powder! I used my mini dolphins from Southern Ridge Trading Company and colored them with Distress Spray in Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio and then Brushed Pewter over top. And under my word is my starfish painted with Twinkling H2O's for some shimmer even though you can't see them too well.

Very excited to finally have some of this ribbon!! I love the crinkle part of it! I dyed it with the Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio and Tea Dye.
Had so much fun with this tag and using the Distress Glaze (that I forgot I had) and the ribbon and my embossing powders and chipboard bits. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

Thanks, Cathy

Outdoors in the Summer

It's time for a new challenge from Emerald Creek Dares! So many things to do in the summer...but I am not a real outdoorsy person! But if it's the beach I am all over that and camping was the big thing my kids and I used to do.

I started with a great 6X6 canvass and stained it with some Distress Spray in Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron. I then took some Tim Holtz plain tissue, stamped my images on it in Archival Black, quick shot with the heat gun to set it. I then scrunched up my tissue and rolled it in Distress Spray on my craft mat. I layered that on the canvass for my background. I added a bit of gel medium in certain spots and sprinkled in some Irridescent Shimmer Embossing powder on the sea side and weathered wood embossing powder on the camping side to add some texture.

You can see the Weathered Wood EP in the bottom corner here and the image of the outhouse on the tissue paper too.

The Irridescent Shimmer powder is there, but the pics do not do the shimmer you get justice! And there is the fishing boat image there too.

Love the outhouse image! And really, we've all had to use them on a camping trip. I colored in all the images using the Distress Crayons.
Yes I have used this starfish stamp alot! I love it! This time I embossed it in the Thanksgiving EP and filled in the open spaces with a Distress Crayon.

Campfires are the best thing about camping....sitting around them roasting marshmallows, talking and just relaxing.

The beach or camping it is for me....although the camping gear has not been used in alot of years now. Maybe next summer :) But don't you delay in sharing your Outdoors, Sports and More project over at the Emerald Creek Dares Challenge and you could win a $25 GC to order some of the amazing products!

Blast From The Past

Yay!!! It's time for a Blast from the Past mixed up with an Anything Goes post!! I'm so excited to be posting since I haven't for a bit and because it's one of my favorite cards ever!! And it's okay to have Christmas in July right!?
Make sure you hop over to the Emerald Creek Dares Blog challenge and share with us! We love to see your creations and designs, it's always an inspiration!

My background was done with Distress Sprays and the snowflake image was stamped in Mermaid Lagoon and layered behind the Pine Cone Frame. I stamped and fussy cut the PC Frame and used some green glitter on the needles, some multicolored foil flake I had stashed away and to make the actual pine cones more wintery I used some Soft Fallen Snow embossing powder on them and some Burnt Copper Leaves ep.

I also used the Soft Fallen Snow ep on the tiny pine cones, the victorian snowflake charms and also on the Prima flowers I used.

This was also a card that Sizzix shared on Instragram and totally made my year!! Yes I got a bit fan girly when I saw it and right away messaged my Emerald Creek leader and was crazy excited. It was a very exciting time and this card is extra special to me, which is why I still have it haha.
