Creative Reminders

Today I'm sharing my! It started with a challenge from Rita Barakat on New Year's Eve and then I kind of wanted more.
I'm sure I'm not the only that struggles with being/staying positive somedays. I have great days, but some days are hard. So what started as a challenge, turned into little embossed/foiled/stenciled/papered labeled wooden tags that now hang in my kitchen, where I can see them everyday!
There are no step outs on these little lovelies, just the finished projects and some close ups of the gorgeous texture. And I used some of my favorite companies to create these.

The little hanging tag family

It all started with this embossing challenge in the Rise and Shine with Rita Barakat facebook group.

Chipboard pieces for the background are from Southern Ridge Trading Company and all the embossing powders are from RB Magical Mysteries line from Emerald Creek

Look at this lovely texture!

I love the simplicity of this tag

Added a touch of RM Mixed Media Medium, some Ranger Foil and a TH Quote Chip

Painted with Finnabair paints, Ranger texture paste through Rebekah Meier's stencil from TCW.

It was an embossing night for sure and I pulled out some of my faves from the Seth Apter Baked Texture line from Emerald Creek.

Yumm!! Patina Oxide and Chunky Rust!

Background paper from Canvas Corp, Vintage Beeswax Baked Texture EP, AI dyed roses from TH, TH Quote Chips, TH baubles dyed with AI, Southern Ridge Trading Company Chipboard, Patina Oxide EP

Little close up of my resin roses and baubles, dyed with alcohol ink.

Yes, I am addicted to Patina Oxide embossing powder!

And to be able to hang them all, I used some wire from my stash and Eileen Hull's Twist and Style Tool.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

It's Christmas Card Time

Working on Christmas cards!! I know, everyone else is doing Halloween and fall right now, but I'm not a Halloween girl (don't hurt me!!) So I am working on Christmas for my craft fair I have coming up in November. This year there is going to be a lot of purple Christmas! Thanks to the gorgeous Kaisercraft line and my new embossing powder from Emerald Creek! And my Christmas dies from Tim Holtz!
And woodland scenes with deer that smell like coffee!! YES!! I said coffee!! Keep your eyes on Emerald Creek for a new embossing powder called Just Java it's gorgeous and smells like coffee ~sigh~ Perfection in a jar! :)

I've got three Christmas cards and one "coffee" card well because it just had to be made. Apparently though....starting a conversation with "hey...smell my card" is weird!! LOL Well the look on my Uncle's face made me think it wasn't a great conversation starter!

TH die for the cup, TH stencil Distress Oxides and Emerald Creek Just Java Embossing Powder!
New deer stamps from the TH special release, embossed in Just Java and my birch die that I forgot to use last year! I wasn't sure how to colour it but Zoe Hillman has a great tutorial on her blog and lists the colours she used for the birch trees, it's the Winter Woodland post.

Love this diamond stamp from the TH special release, especially done in this gorgeous purple embossing powder from Emerald Creek. And I used the little garland from one of the new Christmas thinlits sets.

And yes more purple Christmas! The paper and cut outs from Kaisercraft are perfect for quick and pretty cards and the purple snowflake background is from Emerald Creek.

Look at this glorious purple!!

Love the beautiful frosty metallic finish! I want to use this on everything! So glad I picked up the Kaisercraft Christmas Jewel Collection.

And more Just Java on a maple leaf, going to be the must have of the new year!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you are all having a great week!!

On the stamped image I used Soft Fallen Snow and Burnt Copper Leaves embossing powder

Supernatural and Art

I love 12X12 canvasses and I love the tv show Supernatural (yes, it's been on for 11 years and yes I've been a fan since the beginning).

A couple months back, the series was filming on two locations on either side of my work. Lucky for me, I had the day off and my friend Sara had my back and texted me as soon as the boys showed up to start filming!!

I know that I am a grown up, well most days I give it the old college try LOL, but I was so excited to go and watch this and have the chance to see two of my fave stars, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. And it was soo worth it to spend the day outside of my store, on my day off to have the opportunity to watch this happening. Sara and I were lucky enough to have Jensen wave at us and have a brief chat while they were waiting to start filming a scene, it was surreal at that moment. Later in the day, I was still watching the filming and Jared Padalecki brought the cooler filled with water bottles over and gave them out to those of us watching the process. Made my heart flutter just a bit when he said to me "Hey, I remember you".

Absolutely a fascinating day and watching all the work that goes into a 42 minute episode by EVERYONE involved was quite amazing. So I have printed some of my pictures and used my water bottle to make up my canvas to remember the day!

A close up of one of the flowers, Emerald Creek Funny Bones stamped image in there and the gorgeous heart brad also from Emerald Creek, just painted red.

And my special flower just below the label from the water bottle I got from Jared Padalecki and yes that is bit s of the water bottle in the flower LOL

Love my red and black flowers which I totally made by mistake!! Sprayed the flowers with Tim Holtz Distress Spray in Barn Door, but accidently dropped one of them in the Black Soot I had sprayed already. I panicked but it turned out so cool!!

A little Barn Door Distress Spray and some red fluid acrylic paint and the fantastic Ranger Ink
Texture Paste and my DecoArt stencil and we have "Supernatural"

Some Tim Holtz chipboard I found stashed away stained with Barn Door and Black Soot

The finished project!! With lots of help from some of my favorite companies like Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, Ranger Ink, Tim Holtz and DecoArt!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out another one of my addictions! Have a great weekend!

Welcome Fall

Welcome to the new blog release for Emerald Creek Craft Supplies!!!

It's all about the colors and signs of fall that are surrounding us right now. I love something about every season, but in the fall, it's all about the gorgeous colours that are everywhere. I see them in my yard, in Campbell Valley park, near my work and just about everywhere I go.

I don't decorate for all seasons but did this small wall decor piece to welcome the fall this year.

I used 2 burlap canvas boards, size 4X4 and sprayed them with Tim Holtz Distress Sprays in Wild Honey, Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint, also a touch of Twisted Citron. Yes those are Scrabble tiles ( found old games at thrift stores).

I used the Thanksgiving Embossing powder and a Versamark pen to do the letters on my Scrabble tiles, because sometimes you just need a little glitter! I embossed images of the maple leaf image in the same powder just to add some sparkle to the background.

I then mixed a little Distress Stain in Spiced Marmalade and Barn Door with some Ranger Texture Paste and used a stencil for the design.

I stamped the maple leaf images and cut them all out and added them to the canvas. I used a few pop dots here and there to give it some dimension, I added a few metal curly cues and the adorable pinecone charm.

The finished project! Welcome Fall with all your beautiful colors!

Please go check out the amazing creations from the Emerald Creek Design Team

The excitement is building........

We are just two more sleeps away from the first ever Design Team reveal for Emerald Creek Craft Supplies!! I think everyone is so excited for this first reveal...I know I am. It so many mixed emotions of excitement, nervousness, fear but I think the biggest one is pride in being part of an amazing team, creating with products that make squeal with excitement when you see them and supporting someone's dream!

So without further ado.......just kidding folks, only a couple of sneak peeks here tonight. For all the projects, check back on Wednesday when the reveal goes live! :)

For now I'm just going to share a couple of peeks of what I have been working on and with.

These brads are amazing!! So versatile and you can use Distress Paint to change the color if you want too!
I am a bit of a charm/brad junkie and love how you can use them for so many different things. For my second project I used some charms that are so delicious!

The detail on this charm is amazing and the other side is open so you can add any number of things to fill it, glitter, a picture, more metal bits.

That is all the sneak peaks for tonight but you will be so excited to see the finished projects are the many ideas you are going to have after seeing what Emerald Creek has to offer!

See you Wednesday morning!
