A Trifecta of Dies!

I was so excited to be one of the $50 GC winners in the Stamp 'N Scrap Busy Beaver Blog Hop and even more excited when I saw that they had some Seth Apter dies in stock!! You can check out Stamp 'N Scrap and see what they have! Great service and my package was wrapped up so pretty! I had a couple days of work left when I got my package but tonight I played!!
I really like using canvas boards, but of course I didn't have any....so regular canvas it was. I used a 10X10 canvas and....didn't even gesso it!! I know...who does that? But I couldn't wait so I just started painting. And also...I didn't even clean my brush off between colours!! I'm losing my mind here! LOL Used a completely dry brush for all the colours and my fingers.
I used Seth Apter's Trifecta die on this project and I love it! I can't wait to use the other one I got now! You can get this die at Scrap 'N Stamp HERE or from Seth's website HERE

Here is the finished project featuring Seth's  Trifecta dies, Tim's Distress Paints in Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron, Vintage Photo and Gathered Twigs.

I cut out the dies, then used them as stencils on the canvas (the Peacock Feathers colour), then painted the dies and added them on. I used some burlap I had on my table and painted that and added it.
I used Ranger clear Texture Paste and a large word stencil for background texture. I also added in some spots some Clear Rock Candy crackle paint. Here are some close ups :)

I then assembled everything and glued most of my bits on with Dina's gel medium. I love that stuff!

The shimmery paint is one of the new ones from Finnabair called Fairy Wings, love it!

So many circles!! One in paint, one die on cardstock and one done on cork.

I need to use more crackle...on everything!! I love this stuff...I forget sometimes that I have something!

Excited to have my first ever Seth Apter Dies!! You can find his designs on his website and follow his creative journey on his blog, here is the link to The Altered Page. Can't wait to get more...I need the drips one next I think! :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend everyone!

I love canvas....

I have been doing alot of creating on canvasses lately. And I have to say I love it!! I've been using 12X12 mostly but am reworking a smaller one I started a few months ago.  The one below is one I did to display one of my favorite pictures of my daughter.
I painted the background with the dreamy Dylusions Paints in Vibrant Turquoise, Fresh Lime and Squeezed Orange. Even the names of these paints are wonderful!! I sprayed a bit of my Dylusions spray in the Vibrant Turquoise to get a bit of a drippy look on one side.
I stenciled in some words and painted some wooden peace symbols, my girl is kind of a flower child even though the hippy movement was way before her time lol, she is only 22 :) I then painted some beautiful Prima flowers for embellishments.

My beautiful daughter, Sadie.

The second canvas is one I did for my sister. Layering shades of blue from my Gelatos and from my Tim Holtz Distress Sprays, stencilling with Whipped Spackle from Faber Castell. I then punched out the ticket shapes and stamped the letters on with Ranger Archival black ink. Painted and added some chipboard embellishments and some pearls that I painted to match the red.

My nephews on a canvas I did for my sister.

I had also been asked by a few people to make some cards for them. One was a graduation card and one was a birthday card for a friend at work. I forgot how much I love making cards too!! LOL

Thanks for stopping in to visit and read! Have an awesome week!

Summer Days....

Good Morning everyone!!

Again, I have neglected my blog. I finally found a second job and have been working everyday for a couple of months now. I just finished with my part time job and was very excited to have had two days off this week!! It was very exciting for me! LOL I spent it mostly with my nephews and painting with them so they can enter a kids are exhibit at Opus Art supplies .

I haven't arted much in the last little bit, but I was able to take an amazing class at Clipper Street Scrapbooking, with Deanna. Her teaching for the class called "Black magic 2" was based on what she learned through Prima and Finnabair (also two of my fave sources of inspiration). It was such an amazing class and totally took away my fear of using black!!

We started with a simple white 9X12 canvas board and from there the magic began!

the finished project - Black Magic 2!! It was such an amazing class and I even loved using glitter this time!
I'm hoping to take another class here soon if time permits and I have that evening off of work. Clipper Street is by far one the best places to shop, take classes or even just pop in and share some ideas. The staff there are amazing!

So this will wrap up this post...but there is more to come for sure!! A couple of 12X12 canvasses I did for myself and my sister, a beach festival out in White Rock, BC that I managed to snap a couple of great photos at. Two more projects on my art table...time to get busy and complete them so I can share with you!

Have an amazing weekend!

It's the Weekend!

Another weekend has arrived!

Does everyone have a busy one planned? For those of us with nicer weather....any gardens being started this weekend? Or is it an arting weekend?

I don't have the space where my suite is to have a garden etc so not doing any of that, but I do go down the street and help my sister with hers during the spring and summer. It's kind of nice to be able to do some gardening but not have the whole thing to take care of. It works for me, I get to do some gardening, take pics of the flowers, spend time with my sister and hang out with my nephews, and my sister gets some help in her huge garden areas...win/win!

I am going to work on some art projects in a bit. I have a 12X12 canvas on the go for my sister, should be done tonight I hope. Then I'm going to work on a couple of my Life Book lessons as well.

And at some point I really should grab some dinner. So all in all a pretty quiet day/night for me and I am okay with that.

Next weekend will be busier, it's Craft Night with the girls at my house on Friday, out for dinner for my Dad's 67th birthday on Saturday and the season finale of The Walking Dead on Sunday!! I am going to have withdrawals having to wait till next fall for my Walking Dead fix!!

Have a great evening all, I may even be back later with finished projects, but no promises on that one! :)
