Let It Snow...

....just kidding!! I'm okay with no snow, but my project is all about the pretty, sparkly snow and icicles that the cold and water can create!

I started with some canvas banners I had stashed away (and had forgotten I had) and stamped my snowflake image in Stormy Sky and Mermaid Lagoon.

I stamped the words in Mermaid Lagoon on cotton ribbon

My plans for my project changed from my original idea as soon as I saw the Soft Fallen Snow embossing powder! I used it on all my icicles and sprinkled it on some Ranger Texture Past for some snowflakes to add dimension.

I stamped the icicles, then rubbed them in Brushed Pewter Distress Stain and Stormy Sky Distress Ink. Then sprinkled Soft Fallen Snow embossing powder on and heat set it. Love the shimmer and puffiness!

I used a Tim Holtz stencil and Ranger Texture Paste to add some dimensional snowflakes, and sprinkled them all with Soft Fallen Snow embossing powder.

Had to have my snowflake charms to add some bling and because I love these charms!

And the finished project with three banners together with some old twine. The icicle stamps from Emerald Creek are so amazing!! All the different sizes can be used for so many ideas! They are a must have!

Remembering The Fallen

Today is Remembrance Day. A day to honor and remember all of those that have fought and died to make sure that we have the life we do. They fought so we could have the freedoms we enjoy, so you are free to have and voice your opinion. So many did not come home, others did and had to rebuild their lives and get to know their families all over again.

My piece has four pictures on it, Great Grandpa Hennigar, Great Grandpa, Richard Bower, my Grandpa, Kenneth Sanderson and my Grandfather, Joseph Potosky. Our families were some of the lucky ones, because the boys all came home.

Beautiful heart brads, inked then embossed in Onyx Frost Embossing Powder
Poppies made from Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die and colored with Color Bursts in Orange and Alizarin Crimson and Tim Holtz Distress Spray in Barn Door. The center of the poppy is made with Silver Metal Circle Dot Brads from Emerald Creek that are embossed using Onyx Frost Embossing Powder.

The lattice work pieces were done with the Frameworks - Wave Die, and then stained with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Sprays

All the pictures are inside the Small Prize Cameo Charm from Emerald Creek

Supernatural and Art

I love 12X12 canvasses and I love the tv show Supernatural (yes, it's been on for 11 years and yes I've been a fan since the beginning).

A couple months back, the series was filming on two locations on either side of my work. Lucky for me, I had the day off and my friend Sara had my back and texted me as soon as the boys showed up to start filming!!

I know that I am a grown up, well most days I give it the old college try LOL, but I was so excited to go and watch this and have the chance to see two of my fave stars, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. And it was soo worth it to spend the day outside of my store, on my day off to have the opportunity to watch this happening. Sara and I were lucky enough to have Jensen wave at us and have a brief chat while they were waiting to start filming a scene, it was surreal at that moment. Later in the day, I was still watching the filming and Jared Padalecki brought the cooler filled with water bottles over and gave them out to those of us watching the process. Made my heart flutter just a bit when he said to me "Hey, I remember you".

Absolutely a fascinating day and watching all the work that goes into a 42 minute episode by EVERYONE involved was quite amazing. So I have printed some of my pictures and used my water bottle to make up my canvas to remember the day!

A close up of one of the flowers, Emerald Creek Funny Bones stamped image in there and the gorgeous heart brad also from Emerald Creek, just painted red.

And my special flower just below the label from the water bottle I got from Jared Padalecki and yes that is bit s of the water bottle in the flower LOL

Love my red and black flowers which I totally made by mistake!! Sprayed the flowers with Tim Holtz Distress Spray in Barn Door, but accidently dropped one of them in the Black Soot I had sprayed already. I panicked but it turned out so cool!!

A little Barn Door Distress Spray and some red fluid acrylic paint and the fantastic Ranger Ink
Texture Paste and my DecoArt stencil and we have "Supernatural"

Some Tim Holtz chipboard I found stashed away stained with Barn Door and Black Soot

The finished project!! With lots of help from some of my favorite companies like Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, Ranger Ink, Tim Holtz and DecoArt!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out another one of my addictions! Have a great weekend!

Which Way To The Beach?!

These days I seem to have a number of projects on the go!! Canvasses prepped and hanging on the wall, or sitting on a shelf, backgrounds done and drying on the edge of the table, pretty much anywhere there is space, I have put something there to dry.

It has been so great to get back into creating and being at my craft table more and more. It was the faith in me from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, designer/owner in choosing me to be on her Design Team, that has made me want to be creating and crafting and be covered in ink and paint and gesso LOL

I finally finished my Beach sign and got it hung up on my wall. I truly do love being at the beach, it's so calming and peaceful to me, even when it's full of other people.

On my craft table with the finishing touches. Some of the shells are from a bag I bought at a store and some are right from Crescent Beach, BC and the small piece of driftwood is from the beach too.
And now it is hanging on my wall, so I can have a beachy feel anytime!

Isn't the crackle awesome?! That was done with my DecoArt Media Crackle Glaze! And the alphabet stencil is from DecoArt as well and it was the perfect size for my wooden banners.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

It's All About The Bones....

......Funny Bones that is!! Bright and dancing Funny Bones from Emerald Creek!!

It is that time again, the Halloween blog release from our design team at Emerald Creek Craft Supplies!

I'm not a Halloween decorating/creating kind of person.....usually. But this Funny Bones stamp from Emerald Creek is so awesome. I didn't go creepy scary Halloween, I went more fun and cheery Halloween, if there is such a thing.

I started with an 8X8 piece of cardstock, stamped the very cool Spider Web image and embossed in clear. Then swiped my Black Soot Distress Ink over that to color everything but the spiderwebs. Mixed some texture paste with a bit of Spiced Marmalade Distress paint and used a Dylusions stencil to add some skulls.

I used my Black Soot to go over some of the spiced marmalade skulls, just to add a creepy touch.

I stamped a number of images of Funny Bones in Tiger Lily and Violet, and yes, I did the fussy cutting again!! LOL Added some words, added my bones and voila...a Halloween design, which I think I'll put on my front door!
