Christmas Ornaments in June

I think it has been established that I love the beach/ocean/tropical and would create with that theme all the time! I'm very fortunate that lots of my fave companies have that theme! :)

A few weeks ago I shared my first ornament created with fabulous Southern Ridge Trading Company chipboard, you can go back to check out that one HERE
I had a few more pieces left over and decided I needed another ornament. And here is the second one that I created.

The wooden tag is from SRTC and the wood like finish is actually a piece of napkin that I got from PEI last June. I used DW Gel Medium to put it on and it pulled apart in just the right places!

The full wooden tag.

This is where the napkin tore a bit and you can see the wood underneath.

The lobster is embossed in Candy Red and then again with the Fractured Ice over it. The crab is just done in the Candy Red.

Look at that gorgeous little crustacean!

The center word blocks are from Kaisercraft Beach Shack Collection and the baby seashells just had to be added.

I do have one more tag to work on and I plan on creating another beach themed ornament for my Christmas tree :)

Putting on My Top Hat

Almost the middle of June already!? I am loving the long days and how light it stays out! I also like that it's light out when I leave for work at 5:30am!
I finally used one of my favorite pieces! I wanted the top hat, I ordered the top hat....then all the ideas I had for the top hat were gone! Thankfully I had a new plan for it.
I layered TH paper, Baked Texture, and a hint of DecoArt Foil and then jazzed it up with the pretty shimmery butterflies.

For all the details and the list of all the products I used head on over to the Southern Ridge Trading Company Blog

Have a fantastic week everyone!

A Little Under the Sea Love

I guess it's obvious that I love beach/ocean/tropical related things! All year round but especially when it's actually beautiful and sunny out! I am so grateful that so many talented people have created products with these themes!
Just a quick share today. I played with some Graphic 45 Sun Kissed Collection, a canvas board, TCW Stencil from Rebekah Meier's designs and the glorious Baked Texture from Seth Apter and Emerald Creek.

It's All About the Beach

I took a little bit of time to just play with some products that are not getting the attention they deserve!! LOL
I really love the square canvas boards for creating on! I think it might be my new favorite base.
I didn't do any step outs on this one, I just played and embossed and stenciled.

Covered the board with Graphic 45 paper from the Sun Kissed collection. Used Ranger Ink Embossing Fluid and the gorgeous under the sea stencil  from Rebekah Meier and TCW. Then I layered a card from the G45 card pack and fussy cut out the sand dollars and starfish from the Sun Kissed collection.

Love the Baked Texture Patina Oxide

Added a hint of glitter with the new two tone Glitter Kiss
I think I could create beach related projects all year around!

Thanks for stopping by and I'm always thankful for your support.

Have a great day!

Flamingo Time!

Oh my word!! I saw the demo that Jess did in the Blank Page Muse Stamps Fan Group and fell in love with the designs from Pam Bray. Now up until this episode I wasn't a fan of flamingos, I liked them but had never thought of stamping or playing with the images. Then Pam and Blank Page Muse happened..darn you!! LOL Now I have them in my craft room! And I am so glad I do!
I am not affiliated in any way, I just love these stamps! The detail and the gorgeous thick rubber is amazing to stamp with!
You need to see all the amazing images available from Blank Page Muse.

I took Jess's suggestion and used my TH scissors to cut out my rubber and it was glorious! I then used some double sided tape on acrylic blocks to index all my new images!

Then I had to play a little too! This is my first project using the Flamingo Row and Tropical Dreams stamps.

Here are a few close ups of the project. You need these sets! I love the flowers and drinks and fussy cut all those out to add them to my little frame. I coloured everything in with Distress Markers and a water brush.

It all started with this little guy!

And who doesn't love delicious tropical drinks with umbrellas and in a coconut.

Yum! Added some Distress Clear Rock Candy Crackle!
Make sure you head over to Jess's blog to see all her projects with these sets, and definitely go see Pam's blog as well. Also, here is the link to all of Pam Bray's designs with Blank Page Muse.
