Hanging out with Emerald Creek Today

Hello everyone!! So happy to be visiting Emerald Creek today as a guest! This month's dare is "Anything Goes" and these are always some of my faves since you can create anything! I almost went with a beachy theme since I'm still on a beach high after my trip to Nova Scotia and PEI in June. But then I realized I had some new Seth Apter dies and I wanted to use those too! So a bit of oceany in the background with anchors then all about embossing powders and circles over that.

Here are a few step out pics.

I used the Tim Holtz tissue paper and stamped EC's anchor in Watering Can and Black Archival from Ranger.

I used my embossing pen to colour over the anchors then embossed them in Gun Metal and Hammered Metal.

Hammered Metal is one of my all time faves!!

I used the Seth Apter Sheild dies to cut out all these pieces. I cut them out of cardstock and some TH adhesive backed cork. I used some Hammered Metal and Rose Gold on the cork piece and just love the texture I got.

Seriously love how the Hammered Metal melts and creates texture all on it's own! On the circle piece on the left, I used Hammered Metal on gel medium and did not heat it so I could have another texture in there.

Top has heated Hammered Metal and the circle underneath has the unmelted Hammered metal.

Don't forget to share your "Anything Goes" creation over at the Emerald Creek Blog for your chance to win a $50 GC!

Ready for the Mail

Yes you read that right....the mail!! I have been working on some cards that I am actually going to send in the mail!! I have these ones done, and I'm working on some more, between other projects and work. I just thought it would be nice to let someone know that I was thinking of them and what a nice change from bills or junk mail right?! :)

And since I'm not sure which card is going to which person I figured it was okay to share even if someone sees them now. I wish I finished cards faster, but I do bits at a time, then change my mind on how I want to make it, then change my mind again LOL Also because I wanted to send them in the mail, I was a bit more careful on layers and how popped up I made things.

Here is all 4 of them together. All the flowers are done in the Distress Oxides and used my TH Small Tattered Florals, then glued them all together.

Card #1 and some close ups of the details

This was a chipboard butterfly I had in my stash (forgot I had technically) and the colour was added with the new Finnabair Antique Brilliance waxes!

A Dina Wakely stamp and the Terra Cotta EP from Emerald Creek used as a background layer.

Card #2

The word and the small bits of the Eileen Hull Eyelet lace embossing folder were embossed with Frosted Plum from Emerald Creek.

Card #3

Look at that glorious Burnt Copper Leaves EP from Emerald Creek! It's perfect for branches!

Used the new to me gorgeous Rose Gold EP also from Emerald Creek. I just used an embossing pen to colour the tiny petal parts on the Eileen Hull Eyelet Lace embossing folder.

Card #4

This background was done with oxides and a Dina Wakely stencil.

Another stash item I forgot I had, done with the Finnabair waxes. I wish the shimmer showed up better!

Had so much fun making these, even though I changed my mind a dozen or so times!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!
