Creativation and Winter Hues

WOW!! I didn't post at all last week. All my posting was on Instagram and Facebook as I encountered my first ever Creativation...more on that to come!!
I also got back into my craft room and did a small canvas for The Frilly and Funkie Winter Hues Challenge. Now the hues are winter but the message is one of thanks and memories. Being a part of the Design Team for Emerald Creek allowed me to be at the show and meet some of the most incredibly talented and kind people ever! But first pics of the project!
6X6 canvas, gesso'd, painted, stencilled, embossed, distress sprayed and the flowers were edged in Hammered Metal embossing powder from Emerald Creek.
Just a few close ups of my project to show some of the details.

Emerald Creek charm, embossed teh inside with Hammered Metal, then layered int he "thank you" poured in Glossy Accents and added some of the new stones from Emerald Creek.
A little shout out to Creativation in the bottom corner

Little resin fairy in the corner, lightly painted with irridescent shimmer from the Dylusions line.

I did my project with the challenge in mind but also as a thank you for the amazing people that I got to meet and the incredible time I had at my first ever show.

The show started with this amazing team!

I also had the pleasure/honour of meeting some of my crafting idols!! These ladies were so incredibly kind and made me feel so welcome. I'm still fangirling a bit because well....look at all this talent!!

Karen is the Queen of selfies, which is good because my arms are too damn short!! LOL It was so amazing to meet her and feel so welcome! You need to follow Karen's blog at http://karenbearse.blogspot.ca/

Yes that is Anita, aka The Artful Maven, so excited when I saw her. I was trying to be cool and calm...LOL Didn't happen!! I love her work and it was a big deal! Her blog is at The Artful Maven Haven

Got the chance to meet Jenny at Anita's demo desk!! Seriously too much excitement in one place...I'm such a dork when it comes to meeting this incredibly talented people that I look up too and respect! Jenny's blog is a also a must follow at http://pushingtherightbuttons.blogspot.ca/

And just hanging out in the Emerald Creek booth with all these talented ladies!!

Much more to come from Creativation but I had to share some of it now! At home, still kind of sinking in but one of the highlights of my life! So much talent and kindness and welcoming from people that totally understand when you just have to touch the paper!!

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Yes, YOU are Important!

My first project with the gorgeous new Focus On You Collection from Wild Whisper Designs was a bit of an eye opener. If I could have used all the sayings on one page from this incredible collection I would have. They are so true and a good reminder, as Wild Whisper Designs says..."Love Yo' Self"
I knew this scrapbook page was going to include one of my best friends, since we struggle with a lot of the same things! LOL And the first card that caught my eye was the one that says "Don't believe everything you think" and that was the basis for my page and for including Linda Lou. We seem to be in the self doubt and not believing in ourselves stuff at the same time...or is it all the time haha Either way this collection and the amazing quotes really hit it home. Maybe this is the start of a really good year!

To see more details and the products I used, head on over to Wild Whisper Designs!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Good Morning everyone! I am excited to be Guest posting over at Southern Ridge Trading Company today!  I love these chipboard and wooden pieces! Karen, the designer/owner of SRTC is so creative with her designs. The detail that you get with these pieces is amazing!

Are You Ready?

It is that time of year again, when suppliers, designers, retailers etc get together and see what's new for 2017!! And exciting new things showed up in my Design Team package for Emerald Creek!! New stamps, new embossing powders and some favorites and these new amazing stones! I can tell you right now that yes, yes you do need them! I already need more!

I knew as soon as I got my first ever Eileen Hull die that this was going to be the base for this project!
Emerald Creek embossing powders go with everything! And this is no different.

I embossed the hinges and latch with Emerald Creek Hammered Metal! It really is one of my favorites EVER!

The roses in their original state on the left and then altered and ready on the right. Stained with the same colours as the box and then embossed with Emerald Creek Charred Gold! Another favorite, it just gives the perfect vintagey vibe.

I used EC cardstock and cut out another set from the die. The cardstock pieces I stained in Tea Dye and Dusty Concord. I used Ranger Embossing Ink through the TH stencil Flourish and embossed it with Emerald Creek Charred Gold.

I edged my flowers in Charred Gold as well. Look at the texture and colour you can get in one custom embossing powder!

You can see the Amethyst stones on  the corners of the lid and Moissonite as screw tops on the hinges. Everything just works together.

I think everyone needs a jewel encrusted trinket box! Amethyst on the corners and Pyrite as fasteners on the latch.

And the hinges work so you can actually use it...perfect spot for all the new little things coming soon from Emerald Creek!

I used flowers and some chipboard and embossed them in Charred Gold so they all looked aged and vintagey, and to change up the small ivory flowers, I embossed them with Champagne.

Thank you so much for stopping by and having a sneak peek of what's coming from Emerald Creek at CHA's Creativation! Hope to meet some of you there!

Please stop by my team mates blogs and see their incredible projects too! Grab a cup of coffee or tea and get comfortable, you do not want to miss any of this week's projects!

After Christmas

Well it is after Christmas and New Year's and my trees are all undecorated and put away for another year, well not a whole year, just till December 1!! :) But I wanted to share the rest of my Christmas gifts that I made, but wanted to wait until I delivered the last one.
For the clipboard ones I used my favorite stamp of the season and painted my clipboards with Distress Paint and used my new Holiday Greens Thinlits for embellishing.

One done in green, one done in red and the blue one done with snowflakes.

Some close ups of all the different clipboards (which i got on clearance a few months ago at Michaels and they ended up being the perfect fit for what I wanted to do)

After I painted this one, I cut out some strips from the TH Stash paper, edged them with vintage photo and glued them on.

Shades of blue and silver and shimmery paste for the the snowflake board and and Emerald Creek snowflake charm.

For the green version I layered the stamped image on beautiful plaid paper from the Wild Whisper Designs Holiday Style Collection

For my lovely creative cousins, I made them ornaments for the tree. Oldest is a fan of purple (she's my favorite), middle one is a fan of Supernatural (she's my favorite) and the youngest is a crazy talented knitter and loves crafting (she's my favorite) LOL

6 panels, 6 different shades of purple flowers, some edged in distress ink then embossed with Irridescent embossing powder from Emerald Creek.

Supernatural ornament made with pictures that I took the day I watched them film, and had to add a little skull ornament from Emerald Creek cuz it is a creepy show!

Wrapped a styrofoam ball with yearn and made the little knitting needles with toothpicks and some beads I had in my stash.

Thank you all for stopping by and having a look at my Christmas gifts!! Now to start planning what to do for next year!! LOL although I do have one i didn't finish in time for 2 Christmases ago, maybe I should get that one done for this year!

Have a great day everyone!!

Gratitude Journal

I can't believe we are already 4 days into a new year! I had an idea of making a small Gratitude Journal that fit in my purse and was maybe not as time consuming to keep up like I know some can be. It's a very basic little book that you can jot down good things that happen in a day, or quotes you see and want to use later and maybe just a few reminders to yourself about how great you are!

So for my Mixed Media Mojo project today I used an old chipboard book I had kicking around and added some pizazz to the covers! Don't forget to head over to the original post at Mixed Media Mojo and enter your project!

Front cover

Inside front cover

Inside back cover

Back cover

I coated the chipboard with a layer of gesso first, I just find it gives me a better surface to work on. I then cut my paper from Wild Whisper Designs Holiday Style collection into 4 1/2 X 4 1/2 squares. Once my gesso was dry I painted the covers in Dylusions Crushed Grape.

I stamped my Emerald Creek Vintage Timepiece with Distress Embossing ink and used Emerald Creek Frosted Plum. I mixed Ranger Texture Paste with Dylusions Black marble and stencilled on the front and back pieces of cardstock. I painted over the front and back covers with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle paint in Clear Rock Candy. ialso inked all the edges of my papers in Vintage Photo.

On the inside covers I embossed around the edges with Frosted plum. Your lines don't have to be perfect as the 4 1/2 inch squares of paper will cover most of it. On the front cover I attached a Flourished time Piece Charm from Emerald Creek, I put in a 3/4 inch piece of matching paper inside it, then filled it with Glossy Accents and some Iced Enamels German Glass in lavender. The last square is a quick shot of all the products I used for the journal.

Here are a few close up pics of the covers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you share your projects celebrating NEW and CLOCKS with us!

Have a great day!
